Chicago IP Studio Website Terms of Use
Effective and last updated September 22, 2026
These Website Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Chicago IP Studio, LLC ("Chicago IP Studio," the "Firm," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of www.chicagoip.studio and the pages, forms, articles, downloads, scheduling tools, payment links, and other features made available through it (collectively, the "Website").
Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Website. If you use the Website on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
These Terms govern the Website only. They do not govern legal representation, consulting services, paid-media services, or other professional services provided by the Firm. Those services require a separate written engagement agreement or other contract. If a separate agreement conflicts with these Terms regarding services covered by that agreement, the separate agreement controls.
1 Informational Use Only
The Website and its Content are provided for general informational and educational purposes. "Content" includes articles, blog posts, descriptions of services, pricing information, checklists, graphics, text, videos, downloads, links, and other materials available through the Website.
The Content is not legal advice and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney who has considered the facts and law applicable to your circumstances. Laws, regulations, agency practices, and interpretations change, and Content may not reflect the most recent developments. You should not act or refrain from acting based on Website Content without obtaining appropriate professional advice.
The Website may discuss business, technology, advertising, privacy, intellectual property, employment, finance, health, or other subjects as they relate to legal issues. The Firm does not provide accounting, tax, investment, medical, cybersecurity, or other nonlegal professional advice through the Website. Consult an appropriately qualified professional for those matters.
2 No Attorney Client Relationship
Accessing the Website, viewing Content, subscribing to communications, submitting a form, sending an email, scheduling a consultation, or making a payment does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship exists only after the Firm has completed any necessary conflicts review, agreed to the representation, and confirmed the engagement in a written agreement signed or otherwise accepted by the Firm and the client.
Until then, you should not rely on the Firm to protect your interests, preserve a deadline, take action, or refrain from representing another person. The Firm may decline a matter for any lawful reason and is not required to explain its decision.
3 Confidential and Sensitive Information
Do not send confidential, privileged, highly sensitive, or time-sensitive information through the Website, a general contact form, ordinary email, social media, or another unsecured channel unless a Firm attorney has authorized you to do so. Contact-form transmissions may be delivered through ordinary email and may not be secure.
Information submitted before an attorney-client relationship is established may not be protected by the attorney-client privilege. Applicable professional rules may impose duties regarding certain information received from a prospective client, but submitting information does not create a representation or prevent the Firm from representing another person where permitted by law and professional obligations.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have authority to provide information concerning another person or organization. Do not submit Social Security numbers, full payment-card information, medical records, account credentials, trade secrets, or other Sensitive Personal Information through the general contact form.
4 Attorney Advertising and Jurisdictional Limitations
The Website may constitute attorney advertising under the laws and professional rules of certain jurisdictions. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Descriptions of experience, representative matters, services, or outcomes are not promises or predictions concerning any particular matter.
Chicago IP Studio attorneys practice only in jurisdictions where they are properly authorized. The Website is not an offer to provide legal services in a jurisdiction where doing so would violate applicable law or professional rules. The Firm does not seek to represent anyone based solely on that person's viewing of the Website in a jurisdiction where the Website does not comply with applicable requirements.
5 Permitted Use and Limited License
Subject to these Terms, the Firm grants you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the Website and to view, download, or print a reasonable number of copies of Content for your personal or internal business information. You must preserve all copyright, trademark, attribution, and proprietary notices.
This license does not permit you to provide legal services using the Content, resell or commercially exploit the Content, create a competing product or database, or imply that the Firm sponsors, endorses, or is affiliated with you. No other right or license is granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
6 Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Website to:
Violate any applicable law, regulation, court order, professional rule, contract, or third-party right;
Infringe, misappropriate, or otherwise violate intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights;
Submit false, misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, harassing, obscene, harmful, or unlawful material;
Transmit malware, malicious code, or material designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data;
Probe, scan, test, circumvent, or interfere with Website security, access controls, rate limits, or technical restrictions;
Use bots, crawlers, scrapers, automated agents, data-mining tools, or similar methods to access, copy, index, monitor, extract, or harvest Website Content or data without our prior written permission, except for ordinary search-engine indexing that complies with our technical instructions;
Use Website Content, in whole or in substantial part, to train, fine-tune, ground, evaluate, or develop an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model without our prior written permission;
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code or nonpublic components of the Website, except to the limited extent a restriction is prohibited by law;
Impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or suggest sponsorship or endorsement by the Firm;
Frame, mirror, embed, or reproduce the Website in a way that changes its presentation or creates a false association; or
Assist or encourage another person to do any of the foregoing.
7 Intellectual Property
The Website and its Content, selection, arrangement, design, text, graphics, logos, icons, photographs, videos, software, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Chicago IP Studio and are protected by copyright, trademark, trade-dress, and other intellectual-property laws.
Chicago IP Studio, the Chicago IP Studio name and logo, and associated names, designs, slogans, and source identifiers are trademarks or service marks of the Firm or their respective owners. You may not use them without prior written permission. References to third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners and do not imply affiliation or endorsement.
You may link to the Website's homepage using a standard text link, provided the link is lawful, accurate, and does not imply sponsorship or endorsement. You may not frame the Website, use the Firm's logo as a link, or link from content that is unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, or infringing. We may revoke linking permission at any time.
8 User Submissions and Feedback
"User Submissions" means information or materials you voluntarily submit through the Website, including contact-form information, questions, messages, survey responses, and feedback. Client Matter Information provided through an authorized client channel is governed by the applicable engagement agreement and professional duties, not the license in the following paragraph.
You retain any rights you hold in User Submissions. You grant the Firm a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, transmit, and otherwise use User Submissions only as reasonably necessary to respond to you, evaluate an inquiry, operate and secure the Website, provide requested services, comply with law, and protect legal rights. This license does not authorize the Firm to publish identifiable client or prospective-client information for marketing without appropriate permission.
If you voluntarily provide general suggestions or ideas about the Website that do not contain Client Matter Information or Personal Information, you permit the Firm to use that feedback without compensation or obligation. You represent that you have the rights and authority necessary to submit any material you provide.
9 Artificial Intelligence and Automated Content
The Firm may use technology-assisted tools, including artificial-intelligence tools, in connection with Website administration, research, drafting, accessibility, analytics, security, or professional workflows. The Website may also contain content created or edited with technological assistance. Any such content remains subject to attorney or human review appropriate to its purpose, but it may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information and is not legal advice.
You may not rely on any automated response, chatbot output, search result, summary, or other technology-generated output as legal advice or as confirmation that the Firm represents you. Do not submit confidential or Sensitive Personal Information to any Website-based automated feature unless the Firm expressly authorizes that use and provides an appropriate channel.
10 Privacy and Electronic Communications
Our collection and handling of Personal Information through the Website is described in the Chicago IP Studio Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
By providing contact information, you authorize us to respond to your inquiry and send transactional or service-related communications. We may send marketing communications where permitted by law; you may unsubscribe using the method provided in the communication. Electronic communications may not be secure, uninterrupted, or error-free.
11 Consultations Payments and Third Party Services
The Website may allow you to schedule a consultation or access a payment page. Scheduling does not guarantee that the Firm will accept a matter or create an attorney-client relationship. A fee paid for a consultation or service is governed by the terms presented at booking, the applicable invoice, and any engagement agreement. If those terms conflict with these Website Terms regarding the purchased service, the service-specific terms control.
Payments may be processed by Stripe or another third-party payment processor. The Firm does not ordinarily receive or store full payment-card numbers. Your use of a third-party payment, scheduling, video-conferencing, mapping, social-media, or other service is also subject to that provider's terms and privacy notice.
12 Third Party Websites and Resources
The Website may contain links to governmental agencies, courts, professional organizations, social-media platforms, vendors, publications, or other third-party resources. Links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or responsibility. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, accessibility, privacy practices, or terms. You access third-party services at your own risk.
13 Availability Changes and Termination
We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Website or Content at any time without notice. We may block or terminate access if we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms, created a security or legal risk, interfered with the Website, or harmed the Firm or another person. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including those concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, disputes, and miscellaneous terms.
14 Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE WEBSITE AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." THE FIRM DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SECURITY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE WEBSITE OR CONTENT WILL BE FREE OF VIRUSES, MALWARE, ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS; THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED; OR THAT RESULTS OBTAINED FROM USE OF THE WEBSITE WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME DISCLAIMERS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
15 Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHICAGO IP STUDIO AND ITS MEMBERS, ATTORNEYS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES; LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR GOODWILL; OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE FIRM'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE WEBSITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). THIS LIMIT DOES NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED OR EXCLUDED. THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY AND EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
Nothing in these Terms limits any duty or liability arising under an executed engagement agreement except as expressly stated in that agreement.
16 Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chicago IP Studio and its members, attorneys, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and Service Providers from claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from or relating to your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Website, your material breach of these Terms, your User Submissions, or your violation of another person's rights. The Firm may control the defense of a matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to reasonably cooperate. This section does not require a consumer to indemnify the Firm for the Firm's own unlawful conduct where such an obligation is prohibited by law.
17 Copyright Concerns
We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe material on the Website infringes your copyright, send a written notice to info@chicagoipstudio.com identifying the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, your contact information, a statement of your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature.
This procedure is provided for reporting material appearing on the Firm's Website. It does not mean that the Firm has elected to operate a user-content platform or that it concedes eligibility for any statutory safe harbor. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in an infringement notice may result in liability.
18 Dispute Resolution Governing Law and Venue
Before filing a lawsuit concerning these Terms or the Website, the complaining party must provide written notice describing the dispute and requested relief. The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days after receipt of the notice. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking temporary or emergency injunctive relief or taking action before a limitations period expires.
These Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to the Website are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable law and jurisdictional requirements, the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois will have exclusive jurisdiction and venue. You and the Firm consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
19 Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The revised Terms will be posted on the Website with an updated effective date. Changes apply prospectively upon posting unless a later date is stated. Your continued use of the Website after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes to provisions requiring affirmative assent will be presented in the manner required by applicable law.
20 Miscellaneous
These Terms and the incorporated Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and the Firm concerning Website use, except for additional terms presented for a particular feature. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions will remain effective. A waiver must be in writing and applies only to the specific instance stated. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of the Website or Firm, subject to professional obligations. Section headings are for convenience only. No third party is an intended beneficiary of these Terms.
