Chicago IP Studio founder Mark Gaspar selected for inaugural ABA + TEDLaw founding cohort
CHICAGO — Chicago IP Studio is pleased to announce that its Founder and Managing Attorney, Mark Gaspar, was selected to participate in the inaugural ABA + TEDLaw Founding Cohort, a first-of-its-kind professional development initiative created by the American Bar Association and TEDLaw.
The inaugural cohort brings together approximately 150 lawyers, law students, educators, legal leaders, innovators, and other members of the legal profession to explore how lawyers can prepare for a profession being reshaped by artificial intelligence, evolving client expectations, and new ways of working. The program launched on October 1, 2026, at Jenner & Block in Chicago and will continue as a year-long learning community.
The ABA + TEDLaw initiative focuses on developing the human capabilities that will remain essential as technology transforms legal practice, including professional judgment, adaptability, collaboration, leadership, ethical decision-making, professional identity, and the responsible use of emerging technologies.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of the inaugural cohort and to learn alongside people from across the legal profession. As we build Chicago IP Studio, we have an opportunity to be intentional about how technology is incorporated into the practice of law from the beginning. That means thinking not only about how AI can make legal services more efficient, but also how we preserve professional judgment, protect client interests, expand access to justice, and make sure the future we are creating works for more people, not just some of us.” -Mark
Mark founded Chicago IP Studio to provide practical and accessible legal counsel to entrepreneurs, small businesses, creatives, and nonprofit organizations. His practice focuses on intellectual property, commercial contracts, business transactions, and outside general counsel services.
Participation in the ABA + TEDLaw Founding Cohort complements Chicago IP Studio’s broader commitment to exploring how emerging technology can improve the delivery of legal services while keeping ethics, accountability, client service, and access to justice at the center of legal practice.
The October 1 program marked the beginning of a year-long initiative in which members of the Founding Cohort will continue learning together and exploring how new approaches to professional development can translate into their respective practices and organizations.
